摘要: To investigate the potential involvement of nitric oxide (NO) pathway in colorectal carcinogenesis, we correlated expression and activity inducible synthase (iNOS) with degree tumor angiogenesis human cancer. Tumor samples adjacent normal mucosa were obtained from 46 surgical specimens. Immunohistochemical iNOS, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), CD31 was analyzed on paraffin-embedded tissue sections. iNOS cyclic GMP levels assessed by specific biochemical assays. protein determined Western blot analysis. VEGF mRNA evaluated using Northern Both expressions significantly intratumor microvessel density (rs = 0.31, P 0.02 rs 0.67, < 0.0001, respectively). A significant correlation also found between (P 0.001). production higher cancer specimens than 0.0001 respectively), as well metastatic tumors nonmetastatic ones 0.002 0.04, analyses confirmed up-regulation gene compared mucosa. NO seems to play a role promoting angiogenesis.
