摘要: The in vitro antimicrobial activity of Amomum subulatum and Elettaria cardamomum fruit extracts were studied against Streptococcus mutans, Staphylococcus aureus, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Candida albicans Saccharomyces cerevisiae. acetone, ethanol methanol the selected plants exhibited all tested microorganism except L. acidophilus. most susceptible was S.aureus followed by S.mutans, S.cerevisiae C.albicans case while cardamomum; C.albicans, S. cerevisiae S.mutans. largest mean zone inhibition obtained with ethanolic extract A. acetonic E.cardamomum aureus (16.32mm 20.96mm respectively). Minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) also determined four microorganisms showing zones ≥10mm. This study depicts that acetone fruits can be used as a potential source novel agents to cure dental caries.
