摘要: Fibrocalculous pancreatic diabetes (FCPD) is an uncommon form of that occurs as a result chronic calcific pancreatitis, in the absence alcohol abuse. The disease restricted to tropical regions world, and southern India has highest known prevalence FCPD. typical patient with FCPD lean adolescent or young adult either sex, presenting history recurrent bouts abdominal pain steatorrhea. Demonstration large, discrete calculi by plain radiographs ultrasonography abdomen diagnostic. While exact etiology unknown, genetic, nutritional inflammatory factors have been hypothesized play role. Diabetes often brittle difficult control; most patients require multiple doses insulin for control glycemia. However, spite high blood glucose levels, rarely develop ketosis. Malabsorption responds enzyme supplementation. Surgical removal stones indicated symptomatic relief intractable pain. microvascular complications frequently those type 2 diabetes, macrovascular uncommon. Development malignancy dreaded complication should be suspected any who complains weight loss, back jaundice.
