摘要: Article-at-a-Glance Background Ineffective communication among medical teams is a leading cause of preventable patient harm throughout the health care system. A growing body literature indicates that teamwork improves quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness delivery, expectations for in have increased. Yet few professions' curricula include training, practices integrate principles. Because this knowledge gap, numbers systems are requiring staff to participate formal training programs. Seven evidence-based, practical, systematic success factors preparing, implementing, sustaining team performance improvement initiative were identified. Each factor accompanied by tips deployment real-world example application. Success Factors (1) Align objectives safety aims with organizational goals, (2) provide support initiative, (3) get frontline leaders on board, (4) prepare environment trainees (5) determine required resources time commitment ensure their availability, (6) facilitate application trained skills job; (7) measure effectiveness program. Discussion Although decades research other high-risk organizations clearly demonstrated properly designed programs can improve performance, highly dependent such as leadership support, learning climate, data-driven change. Before engaging should clear understanding these strategies establishment.
