摘要: Defensin is a generic name reserved for an endogenously syn- thesized antimicrobial agent. The purpose of this review to describe series discoveries that led the proposal 25-hydroxylated metabo- lites vitamin D are key, intracellular regulators synthesis and action naturally occurring defensin molecules against bacterial anti- gens. discussion will (1) highlight basic elements human im- mune response responsive D, (2) recount work relevant extrarenal expression D-1-hydroxlase (CYP27b1) in macrophage as initiator innate immune response, (3) recent on relevance intracrine- autocrine-paracrine system model common devastating disease, tuberculosis.
