摘要: Conventionally categorized as commensals, the Streptococci of species S. anginosus are facultative human pathogens that difficult to diagnose and often overlooked. Furthermore, detailed investigation diagnosis infections is hampered by unexplored taxonomy widely elusive molecular pathogenesis. To explore their pathogenic potential, isolates collected from patients two geographical locations (Vellore, India Leipzig, Germany) were subjected multi-locus sequence analysis (MLSA). This revealed potential presence a new distinct clade anginosus, tentatively termed here genomosubspecies vellorensis. A complementary PCR-based screening for pyogenes virulence factor well antibiotic resistance genes not only superantigen- extracellular DNase coding identical corresponding pyogenes, but also erythromycin tetracycline in genomes analyzed isolates, thus posing matter significant health concern. Identification strains capable causing treat may pose additional challenges treatment Streptococcus based infections.
