摘要: Background. Intestinal ischemia reperfusion (II/R) is a serious clinical condition associated with simultaneous multiple organ dysfunction. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether taurine, an antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic agent, could attenuate injury induced by II/R. Materials methods. Taurine intravenously injected Wistar rats 30 min before II/R; physiological saline sham operation served as controls. II/R produced occlusion superior mesenteric artery for 60 min. Rats were randomly sacrificed 1.5, 3, 12, 36 h after blood samples collected assessing alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate (AST), urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine (Cr), tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-), intestines, livers, kidneys, lungs removed histological examination scoring severity terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick endlabeling analysis. amount lipid peroxides (LPO) measured in intestinal tissues, expression caspase-3 detected all the tissues Western blot Results. resulted intestines well lungs, evidenced morphological alteration, increased cell apoptosis, elevated serum levels ALT, AST, BUN, Cr. damage reached peak 3 LPO TNF- Preadministration taurine significantly attenuated score, apoptosis index, LPO, Cr, lower compared Conclusions. attenuates Although mechanism needs further investigation, inhibits production release TNF-,
