摘要: Background: The National Breast Cancer Audit Database of the Society Surgeons Australia and New Zealand is used by surgeons to monitor treatment quality for research. About 60% early invasive female breast cancers in are recorded. objectives this study are: (1) investigate associations socio-demographic, health-system clinical characteristics with cancer mastectomy compared conserving surgery; (2) consider service delivery implications. Materials Methods: Bi-variable multivariable analyses surgery type diagnosed 1998-2010. Results: Of 30,299 cases analysed, 11,729 (39%) were treated as opposed surgery. This proportion did not vary diagnostic year (p>0.200). With major city residence reference category, relative rate (95% confidence limits) was 1.03 (0.99, 1.07) women from inner regional areas 1.05 (1.01, 1.10) those more remote areas. Low annual surgeon case load (≤10) predictive mastectomy, a 1.08 (1.03, 1.14) when higher loads. Tumour size also predictive, large (40+ mm) smaller (<30 mm). These confirmed multiple logistic regression analysis. Conclusions: Results confirm previous studies showing rates residents areas, low loads, cancers. Reasons require further study, including possible effects woman’s choice access radiotherapy services.
