摘要: Infections of the central nervous system (CNS) are important because many pathogens, emerging and reemerging new infections, heavy burden they impose on health care system. The most formidable challenge is increasing number people at risk developing CNS infections due to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) recipients hemopoietic solid organ transplantation other causes immunosuppression. There have been significant developments in last few decades understanding biology disease process by application technologies. Advancements brain imaging newer diagnostic modalities achieved early diagnosis helping patient management with therapies. pathogenetic factors contributing neurovirulence pathogens elucidated use molecular biological techniques.
