摘要: Two ligands for the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGF-R), EGF and transforming factor-α (TGFα), have recently been shown to influence proliferation, differentiation or survival of diverse populations fetal neonatal neuronal glial cells in culture. These findings suggest that EGF, TGFα, another EGF-R ligand play a role regulation similar cellular developmental events vivo. In present study, situ hybridization with an35S-labeled cRNA probe was used determine if mRNA is expressed two principal germinal zones postnatal rat brain, forebrain ventricular/subventricular zone cerebellar external granule layer. Cells labeled were distributed throughout subventricular zone, particularly dorsolateral aspect, from birth adulthood, although numbers as well density diminished during development. developing cerebellum, virtually all layer densely cRNA, numerous perikarya molecular also transiently at lower levels by neurons internal deep nuclei. By expression not detected. results demonstrate prominent within brain indicate member EGF-related family regulating activities progenitor
