摘要: For more than a century, healthcare has been challenged to keep environmental surfaces clean control microbes and improve patient outcomes. However despite an annual cost exceeding ten billion dollars cleaning with disinfection done little reduce the incidence of healthcare-associated infections (HAI). This chapter will review scientific evidence delineating role that environment workers play in acquisition movement implicated HAI how through controlling microbial burden built clinical it is possible mitigate rate acquisition. Specifically demonstrating effectiveness solid copper for its ability continuously limit concentration bacteria found on objects within be reviewed concert discussion mitigation are able concomitantly HAI. Insights provided by this intended facilitate understanding importance need use comprehensive or systems based approach fight associated infections.
