摘要: Recent extreme weather events worldwide have highlighted the vulnerability of many urban settlements to future climatic change. These are expected increase in frequency and intensity under climate change scenarios. Although may be unavoidable, effective planning response can reduce its impacts. Drawing on empirical data from a 3-year multi-sectoral study adaptation for human South East Queensland region, Australia, this paper draws perspectives propose enablers maximising synergies between disaster risk reduction achieve improved outcomes. Multi-sectoral discussed four groups identified enablers: spatial planning; cross-sectoral social/community strategic/long term planning. Based findings, framework is proposed guide systems maximise fields minimise communities highly urbanised areas.
