摘要: Improved side mode suppression with significantly reduced ratio fluctuation during laser tuning is realized in a distributed Bragg reflector structure by incorporating at least one element which exhibits an asymmetric reflection characteristic versus wavelength over band of wavelengths wide enough to include two longitudinal modes the laser. That is, wider than separation for adjacent In embodiment, shown wherein includes corrugated waveguides corrugations having period varies nonlinearly from ΛO end Λhd L opposite reflector, where greater ΛL. Integrated and extended cavity or hybrid structures are described both semiconductor fiber structures.
