The reasons for this survey stem some fears that could be contaminated environmental sources (e.g. soil, grass, earthworms) as result presence area intensive industrial and domestic activities. analyses revealed high PCDD/F home-produced (average = 9.9pg WHO-TEQ per g fat; n 15). An evaluation available results has been carried out Scientific Committee Belgian Federal Agency Safety Food Chain. From evaluation, it appeared analysis congener profiles was limited use because all dominated OCDD congener, independently level contamination. There not enough indications allowing causal link to established between soil contamination and, on other hand, assumed factors such feeding habits, physiological state egg laying rhythm ruled potential causes aggravation. A quick risk assessment led conclusion impact is highly relevant consumer's health due important contribution estimations total body burden.
