摘要: Abstract Background The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality estimates 98,000 deaths occur each year as a result of medical errors, preventable errors are increasing year. Managing complex health care environments to ensure safe, quality patient outcomes is an important nursing contribution. Experienced nurses able predict risk harm based on experience knowledge act recognize respond this risk. First-year prelicensure students have not yet developed skill or clear sense their accountability in the nurse role primary advocate safety. Method A quasi-experimental, pre–post test study 285 enrolled clinical course was conducted describe results innovative simulation learning with standardized patients that focused preventing falls, dramatic example outcome sensitive care. Results conclusions suggest instructional modality provides with gains challenges them memorable experiential they can apply practice.
