摘要: When considering the environmental and health impacts of radioactivity released from Fukushima Dai-ichi power plant, international comparison to date has focused very much on Chernobyl there been significant effort invested determine what could be learned this other high profile reactor incidents such as Three Mile Island. In fact, releases are different these cases comparisons may not only misleading, but cause unnecessary public concern – especially when coupled images “dead zone”. A wider review global history at nuclear reactors, “Cold War” waste management procedures into environment provides a better background put in perspective. This also identifies experience that utilised facilitate stabilisation decommissioning damaged units clean-up contaminated areas, both onand off-site. International highlight special sensitivity due intensive media coverage failures communication worldwide, where lessons by entire industry.
