摘要: Conductance fluctuations in quantum wires are calculated numerically by a scattering-matrix formalism with Landauer's conductance formula. The not universal because they strongly dependent on the system length. When many subbands occupied, there appears length region (called region) longer than mean free path and shorter localization where almost independent of A crossover from one to two dimensions occurs when broadening one-dimensional exceeds their separations. In presence weak magnetic field, becomes wider reduced. strong fields, nearly quantized become negligibly small due formation edge states an extremely long path.
