摘要: [1] Calculations performed with the Hamburg Climate Model suggest that climate change resulting from increasing greenhouse gas emissions would become considerably more pronounced if air quality were dramatically improved in future. Specifically, globally averaged surface temperature and amount of precipitation could increase less than a decade by 0.8 K 3%, respectively, entire anthropogenic sulfate aerosols removed atmosphere. The geographic patterns calculated changes bear resemblance those found aerosol scenario experiments (annual mean approximately 1 on most continents, 4 Arctic). This study suggests possible future as well general issue stability atmospheric loads should be considered strategies aiming to maintain global warming below prescribed threshold. It also underscores need account for associated such strategies.
