摘要: After orthodontic treatment, brackets are debonded and residual adhesive is removed, causing iatrogenic enamel damage. The aim of this study was to review the methods removal, find clear evidence, provide a rationale for procedure. A literature search performed in PubMed, Dentistry Oral Sciences, Scopus, Cochrane, Google, Google Scholar using keywords: debonding, clean-up. Studies concerning human roughness or loss from debonding removal were considered. Forty-four full-text articles analyzed 3 rejected after detailed reading; finally 41 papers included. Fifteen qualitative studies, 13 studies based on indices surface, quantitative found. No meta-analysis could be due lack homogenous evidence. most popular tools tungsten carbide burs, which faster more effective than Sof-Lex discs, ultrasonic tools, hand instruments, rubbers, composite burs. They remove substantial layer roughen its but less destructive Arkansas stones, green diamond steel lasers. Multi-step discs pumice slurry predictable polishing tools. lasers should not used removal. use bur requires multistep polishing. Further efforts made complete remnants, minimizing achieving smooth surface.
