摘要: Diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings were deposited on medical grade Co28Cr6Mo femoral segments for knee joint prostheses by plasma decomposition of the gaseous hydrocarbon methane. In dependence DLC-coating thickness (0.8, 2.7 and 4.5 μm), wear polymeric UHMW-PE (UHMW-PE: ultra high molecular weight polyethylene) counter face was increasing. comparison with an uncoated femur, surface modification 0.8 μm thick DLCs resulted in improved resistance. A DLC coating led to a strong decrease resistance face. possible reason this phenomenon may be changes heat transfer. The transfer reduced due lower fraction defects, like pinholes, thicker coatings. Starting from certain temperature level at inlays, structural could expected, causing higher materials loss. Furthermore, components, release metallic products is coverage alloy DLCs. Hereby, biocompatibility expected.
