Multiwall Carbon Nanotube-Induced DNA Damage and Cytotoxicity in Male Human Peripheral Blood Lymphocytes.

摘要: Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been introduced recently as a novel carrier system for both small and large therapeutic molecules. Biotin-functionalized single-wall CNTs conjugated with the anticancer agent taxoid using cleavable linker, multiwall carbon (MWCNTs) iron nanoparticles efficiently loaded doxorubicin. The MWCNTs are effective transporters biological macromolecules drugs to target cells tissues, thereby attracting attention of biomedical industry. Administrating medical application invariably involves intravenous administration ultimate contact human peripheral blood lymphocytes (HPBLs), yet toxicological studies on effect HPBLs lacking. Accordingly, this study evaluated cytotoxic genotoxic effects healthy male HPBLs. Healthy were treated at 3 different concentrations (12.5, 25, 50 μg/mL) 48 hours. Under these conditions, induced significant cell growth retardation, DNA damage, cytotoxicity. MWCNT-treated also exhibited an increased intracellular reactive oxygen species level during experimental period, which leads damage death, proliferation inhibition, inflammatory response.
