摘要: Purpose To quantify associations between microvascular density and retinal ganglion cell (RGC) axonal volume in the laminar compartments of human optic nerve head (ONH). Methods Eleven normal ONHs were evaluated. Antibodies used to label vascular endothelium (factor VIII-related antigen/von Willebrand factor antibody) RGC axons (neurofilament heavy antibody). Three-dimensional analysis confocal scanning laser microscope images was study prelaminar, anterior lamina cribrosa, posterior retrolaminar compartments. Results Microvascular significantly different (P < 0.0083) greatest prelaminar region, occupying 11.7% tissue volume. per cumulative capillary length (all P 0.0083). Both greater cribrosa (27.4% 2.28 × 10-3 μm/μm3, respectively). Conclusions is closely coupled ONH. The a site high blood supply as evidenced by ratio percentage occupied microvasculature region may implicate it where significant connections central artery short ciliary arteries occur.
