Protective effect of cystathionine on acute gastric mucosal injury induced by ischemia-reperfusion in rats

摘要: We studied the protective effect of cystathionine on acute gastric mucosal injury induced by ischemia-reperfusion in rats. Under pentobarbital anesthesia, celiac artery was clamped for 30 min and reperfused. Sixty minutes after reperfusion, total area erosions thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances stomach, as an index lipid peroxidation, were measured compared between control cystathionine-treated groups. Intraperitoneal administration (1-20 mg/kg) 10 before ischemia significantly reduced both level substances. When (10 administered orally, significant reductions also observed. There a good correlation Cystathionine did not affect blood flow during ischemia-reperfusion. These results indicate that may be due to scavenging action against superoxide radicals vivo.
