摘要: Aims: When locally advanced or recurrent rectal cancer involves the bladder prostate, curative treatment often requires pelvic exenteration. The aim was to assess quality of life (QoL) in disease-free patients with urinary diversion after extensive surgery for cancer. Methods: Twelve (cases) were compared 25 randomly selected given same treatment, but without (controls). An age- and gender-adjusted general population identified (reference). QoL assessed EORTC questionnaires QLQ-C30, QLQ-CR38, parts QLQ-BLM30. Results: cases did not report significantly worse overall than controls reference population. Both had low mean scores sexual function, high male problems. In nine that two stomas, control groups. Conclusions: Tumour-free population, despite most having stomas function. Fear reducing patient's should be a major contraindication when is warranted obtain resection.
