摘要: Midkine (MK; a low molecular weight heparin-binding growth factor) is multifunctional cytokine. MK plays role in morphogenesis of many organs including teeth through epithelial-mesenchymal interactions. We immunohistochemically examined expression various human odontogenic tumors. There was no difference positive rate and intensity between benign tumors their malignant counterparts. Ameloblastoma showed localization the peripheral columnar cells budding processes from parenchyma, which frequently expressed proliferating cell nuclear antigen. also preferentially keratinized acanthomatous ameloblastoma keratocystic tumor. In mixed except for odontoma, intense immunoreactivity to found epithelial follicles, surrounding ectomesenchymal tissue, basement membrane them. Intensity ectomesenchyme decreased relation distance follicles. No tumor associated with production dental hard tissues odontoma. These findings suggested that involved reciprocal interaction epithelium tissue areas without formation Coexpression antigen observed follicles highly cellular nodules considered mediate activity differentiation mechanisms similar those tooth.
