摘要: We investigated wolfCanis lupus Linnaeus, 1758 food habits in central Italy by examining stomach and/or intestine contents of 59 individuals. Road accident and illegal kills were main causes the wolves’ death. Ungulates represented bulk diet (55% frequency), among them wild boar was most important prey, followed domestic Caprinae. Food items origin accounted for about 1/3 all diet. Diet composition did not vary between stomachs intestines spite higher degree digestion intestines’ contents. The frequent detection numerous larvae Diptera necrophagous Coleoptera, let suppose consumption already dead animals, suggests a general underestimate wolf’s scavenging behaviour previous studies based on scat analyses.
