摘要: The detection and clinical significance of HIV-1 minority drug-resistant variants is a major topic current HIV research. Whereas much attention has been placed on the impact in patients initiating antiretroviral therapy, their possible influence effectiveness therapy following prevention mother-to-child transmission strategies resource-limited settings remains largely unexplored. This review outlines variants, focusing primarily studies context regimens, especially those available countries. nevirapine-resistant that arise transmission, for example, an important factor to consider when these women initiate may include nevirapine or efavirenz. Minority nonnucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor-resistant have associated with treatment failure exposed single-dose nevirapine. In countries like South Africa, its longstanding use nevirapine, this question relevant as it other where used. same context, various (e.g. Y181C, K65R thymidine analogue mutations etc.) are discussed. field next generation sequencing very dynamic, rapid improvements present technologies introduction novel discussed review. As setting becomes more evident, guidelines this, countries, will need revision order optimize benefit from future therapy.
