Antimalarial drug discovery – the path towards eradication

摘要: Malaria is a disease that still affects significant proportion of the global human population. Whilst advances have been made in lowering numbers cases and deaths, it clear strategy based solely on control year year, without reducing transmission ultimately eradicating parasite, unsustainable. This article highlights current mainstay treatments alongside selection emerging new clinical molecules from portfolio Medicines for Venture (MMV) our partners. In each case, key research phase are described to demonstrate how these potential medicines were discovered. Given increased focus community disease, next generation combination will provide such explained.
