摘要: The purpose was to determine the incidence of lead fracture in patients with DBS over a long period time. We present retrospective study 208 who received 387 electrodes. Fourteen had sixteen fractures (4% implanted leads) and two suffered from 2 fractures. Of all fractures, five connection between leads extension cables located mastoids region, ten cervical area one thoracic region. mean distance electrode cable 10.7 mm. is common, although long-term complication surgery. In our experience, most common site breakage approximately 9 13 mm junction cable. important cause rotational movement lead-extension system. If we suspect fracture, must check impedance evaluate side effects voltage. Finally, conduct radiological screening.
