摘要: Hypothermia is the most potent neuroprotective therapy available. Clinical use of hypothermia limited by technology and homeostatic mechanisms that maintain core body temperature. Recent advances in intravascular cooling catheters successful trials for cardiac arrest revivified interest stroke, resulting Phase 1 clinical plans further development. Given recent spate failures, we sought to clarify whether therapeutic should be mounted stroke patients. We reviewed preclinical early a variety indications, putative neuroprotection with hypothermia, offer several hypotheses remain tested trials. Therapeutic promising, but 2 development efforts are needed ensure patients safe, before definitive efficacy
