Short stay observation patients: general wards are inappropriate.

摘要: OBJECTIVE--To assess the efficiency of a short stay observation ward attached to accident and emergency (A&E) department main teaching hospital. METHODS--The study was done on 107 patients admitted A&E similar general wards after closure ward. Patients 13 years over who required term admission hospital for or investigation were included. RESULTS--Patients seen sooner by senior doctor, had fewer investigations, shorter in than wards. CONCLUSIONS--The more efficient acute at dealing with patients.
