摘要: J Oral Pathol Med (2011) 40: 665–676 Oral cancer is the largest group of cancers which fall into head and neck category. While genetic alterations in oral have long been documented, effect epigenetic changes more recent. The recent explosion science how chromatin organization modulates gene expression has highlighted mechanism pathogenesis. DNA methylation, an important marker, perhaps best characterized chemical modification mammalian provides a stable, heritable, critical component regulation. This review attempts to decipher aspects by evaluating methylation status through its various stages from normal potentially malignant states. In doing so, we emphasize as novel biomarker research, thus opening newer avenues research.
