摘要: Previous studies have indicated that males are at a higher risk of developing hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) compared with females. Identifying the factors cause this gender-specific difference in incidence HCC has long been considered important for revealing molecular mechanisms involved hepatocarcinogenesis. Given unprecedented tools now available research, genetic established androgen receptor (AR) may be partly responsible gender disparity HCC. AR dual role, promoting initiation and development, as well suppressing metastasis. The present review provides an overview involvement signaling highlighted studies, examples direct transcriptional target genes novel theories concerning conventional concept, suggesting targeting AR, rather than androgen, provide improved therapeutic approach treatment
