摘要: Detection reaction time (RT) at an extrafoveal location can be increased by noninformative precues presented that or ipsilaterally to it. This cue-induced inhibition is called of return ipsilateral inhibition. We measured detection RT simple light targets locations could designated for covert orienting local distant cues. found cooccurred in additive fashion with the direct effects orienting, i.e., it detracted from facilitation attended and disadvantage unattended locations. Thus, cannot suppressed a volitional cued location; co-occurrence different facilitatory inhibitory confirms simultaneous operation multiple independent attentional mechanisms during orienting.
