摘要: This paper examines the close links between knowledge-making authority and decision making in multilateral negotiations on terrestrial sinks of greenhouse gases. Drawing upon social constructivist science studies public sphere theories international relations, traces communicative contexts which state actors have struggled to bring meaning sink concept hereby translated production validation knowledge claims into political authority. In particular focus are instances of. epistemic chaos" when lack consensual shared normative commitments has forced states publicly interpret justify what counts as credible carbon cycle expertise good management. The empirical tracing such justificatory arguments begins at third conference parties (COP3) United Nations Framework Convention Climate Change Kyoto 1997, ends COP 10 Buenos Aires 2004.
