摘要: Background: Previous studies have examined the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and behavior of papillary thyroid carcinomas (PTC). However, results are inconsistent. The purpose this study was to clarify association PTC anthropometric parameters including BMI surface area (BSA). Methods: This retrospectively reviewed 5081 patients who underwent total thyroidectomy with bilateral central neck dissection January 2002 June 2015. Because sexual dimorphism in obesity, analyses were conducted separately for men women. World Health Organization classification used classify as normal (18.5 ≤ BMI <25 kg/m2), overweight (25 ≤ BMI <30 kg/m2), or obese (BMI ≥30 kg/m2). Since no consensus BSA categorization exists, enrolled grouped into quartiles by sex: women BSA1 (BSA <1.52 m2), BSA2 (1.52 ≤ BSA <1.59 m2), BSA3 (1.59 ≤ BSA <1.67 m2), BSA4 ≥1.67 m2); <1.77 m2), ...
