摘要: This study was aimed at designing mucoadhesive microemulsion gel to enhance the brain uptake of curcumin through intranasal route. Suitable oil, surfactant and cosurfactant for development were selected based on maximum solubility, drug excipients compatibility FTIR non-toxicity sheep nasal mucosa. Curcumin loaded (CMME) developed by incorporating polycarbophil as polymer into Capmul MCM optimal (CME) subjected characterization, stability, mucoadhesion naso-ciliotoxicity study. Brain via route studied performing biodistribution in Swiss albino rats. CME found be transparent, stable non ciliotoxic with 57.66 nm ± 3.46, −16.28 mV ± 4.11 98.08 % ± 1.01 average globule size, zeta potential content respectively. PdI TEM depicted narrow size distribution CME. Following single administration CMME dose 2.86 mg/kg, Maximum olfactory bulb more than 11 fold (51.1 ± 2.8) that intravenous injection solution (4.4 ± 1.1). AUC ratio tissues plasma obtained after significantly higher those solution. Findings present revealed may considered promising an alternative approach targeting Curcumin.
