摘要: The Natura 2000 Network represents the greatest step forward yet in conservation Europe, although its effectiveness is sometimes questioned, especially Mediterranean regions. Bats are protected by Habitat Directive and presence of certain species a prerequisite before Special Areas Conservation (SAC sites) can be included as such Network. However, SAC sites regards protection they offer to bats, cave-dwelling species, remains evaluated. We assess system for protecting roosts six bats suitable optimal habitats, using ecological niche models. Gap analyses indicate that c. 60% sites, with values ranging from 45.8% Miniopterus schreibersii 72.2% Rhinolophus hipposideros. offered habitats was found much lower general, below 40% all cases. Our results emphasize potential value non-natural caves (e.g. mines buildings) bat populations, importance assessing efficiency areas considering distribution models incorporate different types information use habitat) concerning occurrence.
