摘要: The increasing demand for fertility advice among human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive women under our care led us to review the incidence of infertility and ethical problems associated with its management. All HIV-positive who attended HIV outpatients clinic from October 1990 end January 1996 were studied. main outcome measures were: number undergoing investigations before after diagnosis, their demographic social details, these investigations. Most 183 studied in reproductive years (mean age 32.7 +/- 6.7 years). Nine had undergone investigations, and/or treatment three whom diagnosed during routine testing prior IVF treatment. Six declined further discovering status. Eight have diagnosis but none achieved pregnancy date. Management decisions may been hampered by uncertainties several cases. In conclusion therefore, as requests HIV-infected occur become more common prevalence infection continues rise, issues management this problem urgent attention so that clear guidelines are available aid decisions.
