摘要: Objective: To evaluate long-term outcome of gastric restrictive surgery in morbidly obese patients aged 55 years and older. Design: Retrospective review with 3- to 13-year postoperative follow-up. Average follow-up 6 years. Setting: Private surgical practice bariatric specialty. Study Participants: Eighty-eight patients, 73 women 15 men, Intervention: Between 1977 1989, 77 had Roux-en-Y bypass, four vertical banded gastroplasty, seven silicone ring gastroplasty. Main Outcome Measures: Weight loss, change incidence comorbidity, reduction medication use. Results: Patients an average 57% excess body weight lost 31 kg, decreased their mass index by 12 kg/m 2 . There was a 20% 48% the number requiring for obesityrelated disorders (eg, diabetes mellitus hypertension). Body less than 30 achieved maintained 42% patients. Conclusion: This form therapy is appropriate selected older age groups. ( Arch Surg 1993;128:1153-1157)
