A Transforming Growth Factor β Receptor Type II Gene Mutation Common in Colon and Gastric but Rare in Endometrial Cancers with Microsatellite Instability

摘要: We have recently demonstrated that mutation of the transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) receptor type II ( RII ) gene is characteristic colon cancers exhibiting microsatellite instability or replication errors (RER+). Moreover, we shown mutations in these RER+ are characteristically frameshift within a 10-bp polyadenine repeat present -coding region. now show this also commonly gastric (71%). In contrast, find same distinctly uncommon endometrial (17%, P < 0.02). These results suggest confer advantage and selected for both upper lower gastrointestinal tract. The genesis tumors must, however, be by different route.
