摘要: Background: The memory deficits in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) are associated epileptogenic lesions of the lobes, especially hippocampal sclerosis. Memory have been extensively studied TLE, but presence pre-existing abnormality has confounded studies on relationship between dysfunction and seizure activity. Idiopathic generalised (IGE) is characterised by primary seizures found to occur absence any macroscopic brain abnormalities. IGE therefore ideal for investigations effects activity cognition. Aim methods: Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) neuropsychological testing were used investigate epileptic seizures, performance neuronal lobes a group IGE. 30 15 healthy controls participated study. Results: Patients perform worse than tests speed information processing, general cognitive range tests, including face recognition, word verbal recall complex figure recall. patient visual recognition sections Doors People Test was correlate MRS ratios N-acetyl aspartate:choline aspartate:creatine lobes. Conclusion: This result supports hypothesis that may be due secondary itself
