摘要: Many human genes involved in the repair of UV damage have been cloned using different procedures and they great value assisting understanding mechanism nucleotide excision—repair. Genes ionizing radiation proved more difficult to isolate. Positional cloning has localized XRCC5 gene a small region chromosome 2q33–35, series yeast artificial chromosomes covering this isolated. Very recent work shown that encodes 80 kDa subunit Ku DNA-binding protein. The Ku80 also maps region. Studies with fission sensitivity can result not only from defective DNA but abnormal cell cycle control following damage. Several ‘checkpoint’ isolated characterized detail. It is likely similar checkpoint exists cells.
