Depression, Social Support, and Quality of Life in Older Adults With Osteoarthritis

摘要: Purpose: To develop an understanding of the quality life older adults with osteoarthritis (OA) varying levels depression and social supportas a basis for nursing interventions. Osteoarthritis in United States is number one chronic disease late major cause disability adults. Design: For cross-sectional survey, convenience sample 50 OA was recruited from two U.S. hospital-based arthritis clinics northern Ohio 3-months during 1995. Methods: During face-to-face interviews, Arthritis Impact Scales, Center Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale, Social Support Questionnaire, Quality Life Survey, were used measure severity, informal support, life.
