摘要: Abstract Changes in blood pressure were measured at three-monthly intervals over one year a prospective study of 704 women using an oral contraceptive (OC) containing levonorgestrel 250 ug with ethinyl estradiol 50 and 703 intrauterine device (IUD). The was conducted 11 centres seven developing three developed countries. Women OC systolic pressures which 3.6–5.0 mmHg higher than those IUDs; their diastolic became 1.9–2.7 mm higher. OC-induced change not affected by climate, age, family history hypertension, stroke or heart disease hypertension pregnancy. life-table rate (BP 140/90 more) the first treatment 0.6 ± 0.4 countries 1.1 0.8 ones, per 100 woman-years use. vasopressor response to varied widely between but obviously related economic development country.
