摘要: AIM To evaluate the effectiveness of a 24-week program nutritional supplementation using whey protein, ingested after resistance exercise, in increasing muscle mass and physical function among community-dwelling healthy older Japanese women. METHODS We carried out randomized controlled trial, with 81 women, aged 65-80 years, allocated to three groups 27 participants each: exercise protein group, only group. A twice per week, was combined supplementation, containing 22.3 g protein. The total intake for all experimental adjusted level at least 1.2 g/kg bodyweight/day, more during intervention period. Between-group differences pre- post-intervention change skeletal were evaluated an analysis variance. RESULTS increase index significantly higher group than (P =0.008), either (P =0.007) or (P <0.001) groups. Similarly, grip strength gait speed greater (grip P =0.014, P =0.026). CONCLUSIONS Whey could be effective prevention sarcopenia Geriatr Gerontol Int 2018; 18: 1398-1404.
