摘要: Age-related strength and muscle mass loss is further increased after acute periods of inactivity. To avoid this, resistance training has been proposed as an effective countermeasure, but the additional effect a protein supplement not so clear. The aim this study was to examine whey enriched with leucine on gains in post-hospitalized elderly population. A total 28 participants were included allocated either supplementation or placebo following for 12 weeks (2 days/week). Physical function (lower upper body strength, aerobic capacity Short Performance Battery (SPPB) test), mini nutritional assessment (MNA) composition (Dual X-ray Absorptiometry) assessed at baseline training. Both groups showed improvements physical intervention (p 0.05). Muscle did improve group > In conclusion, are enough population no benefits protein-supplemented group.
