Molecular staging of gastric cancer

摘要: Gastric cancer has traditionally been staged using purely histological methods, but these methods provide little information about the biology of gastric and have limited predictive power. Recent studies shown that clinically relevant subtypes distinct gene expression profiles. This approach, termed molecular staging, can lead to discovery novel diagnostic prognostic biomarkers cancers. update reviews advances in staging discusses their implications for prognosis diagnosis this complex disease. Technologies used as well future directions optimization are also discussed.
