Alkali metal tetraphenylborate complexes with some macrocyclic, “Crown”, polyethers

摘要: Abstract Complexes of sodium, potassium and caesium with a range cyclic polyethers have been synthesised using tetraphenylborate as the counterion. While some complexes are found to similar metal co-ordination compounds studied previously, non anion enables new products be obtained when reaction conditions varied. Thus, sandwich compound Na(benzo-15- crown-5) 2 BPh 4 crystallises in high yield appropriate reactant ratios empoyed, dibenzo-30-crown-10 is co-ordinate either one or two sodium ions depending on solvent used.
