摘要: The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used to determine the tissue distribution of phocine herpesvirus-1 (PhHV-1) DNA in 20 stranded Pacific harbour seals (17 pups and three older than one year) that died during rehabilitation. aim begin define stages infection investigate relation between presence PhHV-1 tissues, histological lesions serology. detected a wide range tissues from 10/17 3/3 subadults or adults. Different clinical patterns emerged examination ante- post-mortem samples. These probably represented with active infection, recovering chronic, reactivated infection. As absence typical seven specific antibodies four seals, it is clear both serology underestimate results showed can occur obvious disease seroconversion may be associated recovery.
